If you’re not familiar with the 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner®, then you should be.
It’s a stain remover that has become one of the most popular products ever to hit the shelves. For this reason, this has become a staple in most homes around Houston, Texas.
Not only that, but Home Depot®, Lowe’s®, and Walmart® stock it (sometimes) and sell it by gallon and in larger containers. Consumers who buy the 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner® rave about it because they think that it can clean problem areas fast.
So, with this great reputation, what could be the downside – if any?
As we write this, we realize that we are one of very few who disagrees with this statement.
So, without keeping you guessing, what is the drawback?
Based on our experience, this product fails in one claimed effect – that it removes stains.
In our opinion, after using this product, is that it does not remove stains. This may sound technical, but it is very important because if you don’t remove the stain from the object, you’ve only done half of the job.
This is much like cleaning an indoor shower – you wipe cleaner on, rinse it and say it’s cleaned, but is it really clean? On the surface, maybe, but what about the mineral build-up and saturated staining?
We agree the 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner® cleans, kills mildew, mold, and algae.
However, there is one big piece of the puzzle missing!
In our opinion, it is not good for removing stains, which is commonly assumed by consumers given product marketing. Anywhere from 20% to 50% of the “ugliness” users treat with the 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner® and a pressure washer remains.
At this point, most give up on getting the area cleaner and think that it is as clean as it will get. This is where they get into trouble.
They blame it on the age of the area or the area being overused. They think they are finished with the project, but they have (to some degree) made the problem worse.
Their attempt to remove the stains now causes the surface to absorb stains more than before they started cleaning it.
Their “clean” is a very temporary clean, and they’ll keep repeating the cleaning process with the same results.
This repetitive process is more damaging and continues to open the pores each time it is applied. The stubborn stains (marks and blotches) consist of mineral buildup and organic leaching from the outdoors that absorbs into the surface.
These general atmospheric conditions ensue minerals and organic staining, which must be approached separately by a skilled professional as part of the process.
In our opinion, is the 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner® safe to use?
Absolutely not.
In fact, given the way it is being sold and used, it can follow a harmful, repetitive process.
