About Saltillo Tile
Saltillo tile is a type of terra-cotta tile that originates in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. This tile varies in colors and shapes. The majority; however, range from hues of reds, oranges and yellows. Saltillo tile is highly porous and there is no glaze on the top surface of the tile. A penetrating sealant will maintain the natural look of the tile. For best results, routinely clean the tile with a neutral cleaner applied with a damp mop. Bizaillion Floors, LLC. strongly recommends professionally maintaining the sealant/polish to extend the life of Saltillo flooring.
