Travertine honing is the most commonly performing polish on a travertine floor today. Honing is a type of polish, a lower level polish like a satin finish, because most travertine floors. It comes from the factory with that low shine/hone; most people would like to keep it that way. Your travertine has been worn for several years and develops small holes. Honoring a floor is just a low-level “abrasive polish.” There are several different levels of shine that you can achieve, and a honed floor is a very custom polish.

TRAVERTINE HONING PROCESSES

Initially, one must clean the floor. Then we can machine hone your travertine with the use of diamond abrasives. This procedure will remove minor scratches and surface abrasions and return the travertine to a like-new appearance or, in many instances, better. If you want to change the honed look, you can always choose a polished or higher hone, depending upon your tastes and preferences. It can also be performable using an abrasive compound power, honing powders, and state-of-the-art diamond pads. The most important thing is how you seal your travertine when you’re done honing because that will keep it looking better for longer.
